Foundation of EDAD celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, was spearheaded by Galip Gürel, Selim Pamuk, Ata Anıl, Gazanfer Gür, Hasan Alkumru, Ahmet Kurtaran, Mete Fanuscu and Engin Taviloğlu.
In those years, our country was inexperienced in the concept of scientific congresses; EDAD’s significant advance in the subject has resulted in successful international conferences in Turkey. EDAD organizations have brought Turkish dentists together with respected scientists’ high-quality presentation techniques and intense case study-based seminars.
EDAD has set its mission as becoming the primary channel to keep our colleagues up-to-date with the advancements and changes in esthetic dentistry in a quickly evolving technological environment, and has been successful in fulfilling its mission.
One of the most important advantage EDAD provides its colleagues is to show them that knowledge can be implemented in their practices without making concessions in their academic knowledge. EDAD congresses has been of utmost importance in teaching our dentists how to apply the academic research into practical instruments rather than teaching them simply the raw results of academic studies.
EDAD furthermore showed that a congress is not just a simple exchange of scientific information, but an opportunity for our colleagues to socialise and have fun in a common environment with scientists and their colleagues from different parts of the world.
EDAD, being aware of the importance of continued education from its early years, has reached a nearly unreachable quality and quantity with its evening seminars and courses.
EDAD has improved itself over the years; it has founded the Implant Working Group and Young EDAD and has proved its succes in many occasions. It has also become a member of International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry.
